There are three main home types best loved by purchasers at the present time - single family houses, townhouses and condominiums. The term \'house\' is clear to everybody, while some customers as well as estate agents still have a ill-defined idea of the terms \'town home\' & \'condo\'. It is important to distinguish between the terms when searching for an appropriate property. \'A house\', or \'a single family house\', is a detached structure suitable for a typical family to live in. Both the house and the lot are in the owner\'s possession. There are no walls to be shared with neighbours and, therefore, one may enjoy his or her privacy to the fullest. As \'a house\' is in the owner\'s absolute possession, any refurbishment exterior of a house can be done. Nonetheless, possessing \'a house\' may be really expensive in comparison with town homes or condos. More than that, the owner is also expected to take a proper care of the exterior and pay all the maintenance work by himself/herself. Usually the expenses are shared between members within a townhouse or condo community. The common budget is made up of fees mandatory for all condominium owners. When acquiring a condo, one should remember only interior of the unit is owned, while the exterior is in the communal possession. As stated differently, everything that is inside the condominium is the owner\'s property & everything including green lawns, yards, hallways, parking places exterior of the condominium is owned by a condo community. Condominiums are very often purchased by somebody who cannot afford expensive single family homes & maintenance expenses. However, owning a condo may have a few disadvantages. First and foremost, you have no privacy, as neighbors are all around you. Secondly, you have no private garden or a lawn where you can grow your favourite flowers. Anyway, when buying a condo, look for the one which has fewer shared walls. It will cost more, in case you would like to put it up for sale. Fees should also be taken into account before acquiring a condo, as in some areas they are gradually growing. Charges may vary from 1 to 5 hundred dollars per month, hence it will largely increase the cost of your house. Townhouses have basic characteristics of both single family houses & condominiums. Therefore, when possessing a town home you will have to share walls with your neighbours, but only on either side of you. There will be no neighbors above or under your unit. Lucky are those people who own an end unit, as they share only 1 wall and, that is why, can sell their property easily & at a higher price. In comparison with condos, there is commonly a nice yard attached to a town home which is as large as that nearby a house, but is not that expensive. Therefore, townhouses may be an ideal choice for those people who are in search of private space of a single family house and reasonable prices of a condo. Being able to differentiate house types is considered to be a vital key to selecting a proper home to live in that will comply with all needs of the owner.
